Active in the recording studios of Miami he has been light heartedly referred to as “the most recorded Tango oboist in the U.S.” Further recording experiences are extensive and include orchestral and chamber music repertoire for major labels and television in the United States and Mexico.

Past faculty affiliations include Cornell University, University of Oklahoma, Oklahoma City University and the Conservatory “Ollin Yoliztli” in Mexico City.

Acknowledged for his work on tone production, gouging machines and reed making, he has been in demand by professionals for advice and guidance in those areas.

Robert Weiner is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music and the State University of New York at Stony Brook. The teachers most directly influential to his “oboe life” were Robert Sprenkle, Ronald Roseman, Harold Gomberg, John Mack and Joseph Robinson. Profound influence can also be traced to Harry Shulman, Peter Bowman and Richard Woodhams.

As a composer and arranger he has written works for educational use in schools and youth orchestras in addition to the professional level. The creation of RobertWeinerMusic stems from work done for his oboe students.
